Congratulations on your engagement, and welcome to Curvaceous Couture. The following are a few answers to common questions to help you understand this exciting (and sometimes overwhelming!) process.
At Curvaceous Couture, we believe the process of choosing your gown should be enjoyable and fun. Our sales associates will assist you in selecting and trying on different styles to create the desired look for your wedding day as well as express your personal taste. You will be able to select sample gowns ranging from sizes 14 – 32W.
APPOINTMENT POLICY: In order to maintain a pleasant atmosphere for you and our other brides, we ask that you bring no more than 4 guests and no children under the age of 12 (Please note: Current Covid-19 Operations are currently in effect. Review these policies at COVID-19 OPERATIONS NOTICE).
If you are late for an appointment, we may not be able to complete the entire service you requested. To accommodate your desired appointment a credit card is required at the time of booking to guarantee your appointment. We hold this information as part of our cancellation policies and only make necessary charges to your account on the date of your scheduled appointment. Details of our cancellation policy are provided below:
CANCELLATION & NO SHOW POLICY: Your appointment is reserved especially for you. We value your business and ask that you respect the salon’s scheduling policies. Should you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Any cancellations with less than 48 hours of notice are subject to a cancellation fee of $50. Clients who miss their appointments without giving any prior notification will be charged $50. We recognize the time of our clients and staff is valuable and have implemented this policy for this reason. When you miss an appointment with us, we not only lose your business, but also the potential business of other clients who could have scheduled an appointment for the same time. Additionally, many times our staff will be functioning in an “on call” status and can have traveled to the salon specifically for your consultation. For these reasons we are obligated to compensate our staff for their time as well as make up for the lost revenue.
When you schedule your appointment with us, you are agreeing to these policies. We require a credit card to guarantee an appointment so please have your credit card ready when booking. You will not be billed unless there is a cancellation or no show. Upon checkout, guests may choose their method of payment. We suggest you wear nude, seamless undergarments. Pictures of your favorite Curvaceous Couture gowns from magazines and our website are welcomed. For your first visit, keep an open mind to try on styles that your consultant may suggest. With our years of experience helping brides look beautiful, sometimes our suggestion may end up being “the one”.
Due to limited space, we allow a maximum of 3 guests. We also find that too many opinions can create confusion. Reminder to family and friends: You may have your own idea of how you see the bride on her wedding day. Your vision may differ from the bride. The bride needs your love and support in finding a gown that expresses her unique personality and beauty. We often find a gown that meets (and exceeds!) all expectations.
For safety reasons and to maintain an environment of relaxation and tranquility for all brides, no children under the age of 12 are permitted in the salon.
No. Not every dress from the different designers we carry is in the salon. Please let us know when scheduling your appointment if there is a specific dress you are interested in trying on, and we will either try to get it on “loan” from the designer or find a similar shape or style. On a side note, loaner gowns are often only available in small sizes that will not work for the majority of our clients.
In these challenging economic times, Curvaceous Couture is aware that quality and beauty are most important to a bride on that special day. So, we have stocked our showroom with gorgeous gowns starting at approximately $1,000 and up to suit most budgets. On average, our most popular styles range from $1,500 to $2,500.
All of our gowns are made to order, and generally take between 4-6 months for completion. We recommend ordering your gown at least 8-12 months before your wedding to allow time for shipment and alterations. You are not buying “off the rack” and that is part of what makes a Curvaceous Couture gown so special. You must also allow at least 6 to 8 weeks for your alterations and final fitting. Despite this labor intensive process, we do offer rush orders with some of our designers, so please ask.
A 60% non-refundable deposit is required to place your order. The balance is due within 7 days after dress arrives from manufacturer. Given that our gowns are made to order, all sales are final. There are no refunds, exchanges or credits available. Thank you for your consideration.
